Who is Eligible?
Block-Account
Proof of a blocked account with living expenses for 6 months (shorter 3-month options available in some cases) Per 1100€
Language Proficiency
Valid German language certificate required (we exclusively work with German certifications, not English)

Confirmed first residence in Germany, with our Welcome Center in Weißwasser as your starting point
Education or Training
Proof of completed vocational training or university degree that is relevant for the German job market
Meeting these requirements significantly increases your chances of approval. Our team helps you prepare every document correctly.
A blocked account is a special bank account that is mandatory for foreign students and job seekers in Germany. It serves as proof of your financial independence during your stay.
- You must deposit a minimum amount of approximately 11,208€ (1,100€ per month for one year)
- The money is blocked and you can only withdraw a fixed amount monthly
- This system ensures that you do not face financial difficulties during your stay in Germany
- For the Opportunity Card, shorter periods (minimum 3 months) may be sufficient
We support you in opening a blocked account with a German bank and with all necessary formalities.
For the Opportunity Card, you must be able to demonstrate basic German language skills:
- At least level A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- The certificate must be issued by a recognized examination center
- Higher language levels (A2 or B1) improve your chances in the points system
- Online courses are possible, but the exam must be officially recognized
We work with certified language schools and can support you in preparing for and registering for the exam.
The Opportunity Card is based on a points system where you need to achieve at least 6 out of 10 possible points:
- Vocational training/university degree: up to 3 points
- Professional experience: 1-2 points (depending on years of experience)
- German language skills: 1-2 points (depending on level)
- English language skills: 1 point
- Age (under 35 years): 1 point
- Connection to Germany/EU: 1 point
